flowering trees

So I have a magnolia tree in my garden, all in bloom now and it looks like a fairytale. It's right next to a huge pine tree, a tree that really annoys our neighbour. We have told him if he wants it removed, he is very much welcome to do the job.... so now he's even more annoyed... he's the kind of person who comments whenever we are just sitting in the garden relaxing; " are you just going to sit there, shouldn't you do some gardening?" ah well, he's retired, and keeps his garden 24/7... let him nag, I admit I don't care.... :o)

Today I am so happy, after several visits to the hospital - today it was a MR scan; they squeezed me into this pretty narrow tube,and I had to lay very still for 20 minutes ( seemed like 20 hours...) and the machine was banging and thundering and my ears almost fell off, the noise was insane! But I guess it was worth it, 'cause afterwards the doctor dropped all charges and no sign of any vicious breast cancer, so I am not to come back. phhjuuu... I hate that place. And today they must have had a plumbing problem, the odeur in the waiting room was... eeeewww...

my son is home again after 1 week of school trip on Iceland... :o)

great to have him back home - he had a great time up in the cold, with lava, geysers, hot springs, backriding icelandic horses, meeting young people from Iceland etc. The same young people will come visit us in the middle of May :o) 2 of these fine young men will be staying at our house.... wonder if there would be any possibilty the teenage room could get cleaned up by then ?

I was born and raised in this area, Bodoe in the far north of Norway. High mountains, stormy ocean, lots of wind and pretty cold. But wonderful. I enjoy visiting as often as possible.

This is where I live now, Odense on the small island of Funen in Denmark. All flat, long beaches, warm summers and wonderful people.

Here I have my familiy - husband and kids, and I have lived here for almost 20 years....

But I feel my Norwegian bones, and sometimes I just crave and long for the mountains and cold seas of Norway.

What did I do this weekend? Friday just after work I hurried out and picked up the tuxido we were renting for this fancy party at my sons school. And I think he looks absolutely dashing, don't you? Just seeing him without the sneakers in regular mens shoes, is amazing... he sure is growing up on me... can't stay serious for too long...

my daughter had her spring gymnastic show off... I sit and watch for hours,all the energetic and happy young people, and I get all emotional...

don't I look sort of scary...

we were cleaning up the fish pond in our back yard, and Bundy was more than willing to help... got a bit wet though...

we were so happy all the fish had survived the winter

fortunately no fish in this bucket...
