been there, did that, bought the t-shirt

I have just been a week in New York, on Manhattan. Job related. First time in the US. Hope it is not the last - but next time I wouldn't mind seeing a less crowded place... 16.6million people live in NY - wow... In Denmark there are 5.5 million...
the lobby of the Paramoun hotel, very nice, modern decorations... but... oh... the perfumed air... terrible!
all those tall buildings... and those crazy cab drivers...

parking in NY. Like the people, all on top of and around eachother...

The Javits exhibition center - huge, but neat.

cops everywhere.. here on Times Square - from where we stayed 50 metres away.

from the Top of the Rocks - view of Central Park

.. and the Empire State Building..
Didn't get to see so many of the tourist sights, the daily schedule was quite busy.
But, now I've been there - and can live to tell about it :o)
Came home yesterday, and last night, before giving in to the jetlag and collapsing in my bed, I took a small stroll in the neighbourhood with Bundy, and ah, the silence, and the solitude, and the empty street... can't find that in NY. I didn't, anyway!

My way or the highway?

So - going to work from 8-4 every day, can be a drag. But when the weather and wind conditions are fairly OK - AND I am able to convince myself that exercise is soooo good for me, I take my bike and give the car a rest... Let the other cars do the highway.. and choose this way instead.. Denmark is packed with yellow rapeseed fields these days..

pretty cool if you ask me

sign to "the romantic garden" - must choose that way some day... and bring pics of it :o)

I love trees - their shape in the horizon is beautiful.

lots of horses on my way - these are just a few of them.

This tree is pretty much the landmark of this tiny little town called Davinde . All the people here gather on regular basis to keep the shape of the tree all neat and sharp.
You see the speed limit - 40 km/h - so here I must slow down :o))

more yellow fields... with a small red house in the middle. Wonder if anyone lives there?

sometimes when I am going by car, I take this way home instead of the highway - even though it does take a few minutes more... who can blame me?

so, all there -bike parked - ready to go change from loose sports outfit to tight office outfit... ah well, whatever..
my "home" 8 hours a day... I have no idea who made this mess on my desk!

coming home I am greeted by this...
and this..

but we all know that all day long Bundy has been doing this:
... btw, his ouchies are still there, apparently concentrated on the right back leg... so in a few days we will have him x-rayed, and see if that can make us - and the vet - any wiser...
During the day he seems OK, as long as he doesn't romp around too much...yesterday we went for a quite long walk in the nearby forest, and he did quite OK, and wasn't completely poofed afterwards as he has been earlier..
So, we're optimistic and hope for the best that it is something that will pass and that he will be fit as a fiddle again soon!

training, ouchies

First a picture of the angry cat Mio training to be a flower... Mom thought he was so cute... something I completely fail to see.. then we were off to our weekly dog training session - with all kinds of other dogs. The session is for "grown up and well trained dogs". Mom laughed so hard when she saw that, and snorted " did you hear that Bundy - you are supposed to be grown up AND well trained!!" ah well whatever..

so, we sit and get instructions from the trainer, who, by the way , adores me... who can blame her?

look at me - I can be fast as a ninja! and all blurry too...

.. because my main goal throughout every period of free time during training is to get in contact with this one, a most irresistible border collie named Freya... Oh. My. Dog! But she runs sooo fast, and pretends she doesn't want anything to do with me!! But I know better.

still when she makes this move, climbing the ever so frightening agility uphill, ahead and downhill thing, I do get the feeling she teases me a bit... I would NEVER EVER get up on that narrow and terrifying thing! The people around us laugh and say she's a smart girl, something I really fail to understand at all!

... ah look at her... looking at me...

but, after chasing her, and also running around with the others, I get all exhausted... and just want to lay down... and I am pretty willing to do all the stuff and follow the commands my dad tells me..

But I am completely and utterly worn out. And it is more and more obvious that I hurt, in my back part. I limp, stagger about, drag one of my back legs, and my mom almost cries seeing me like that. It has been like that for several weeks now.

When we get home, I lay down and relax, a lot, for hours, but then, after 2-3 hours I am fit as a fiddle again .

But this is very worrying for my humans, and mom is so scared I go around with pain most of the time, but just doesn't show it, as my kind has a very high pain threshold.

So coming Monday I have an appointment with the vet, to be checked. So we'll see. Mom tries not to think of the worst..

you know, most things do get better with a kiss...
