18 years

So, now I have no more kids - only grown up children.. Daughter just turned 18.
Son going on 24 this year.
Me ?
At a time I exclaimed to have my litter complete by the age of 30.. My beautiful daughter arrived just 2 months before my 30ieth birthday - so you do the math :)

She is politically engaged, a diligent student, devoted friend, compassionate, funny, loving..

She has all kinds of plans for her future - and I am certain she will achieve all her dreams!

winter

Why do I love Winter?
  • no bugs
  • no gardening
  • cold and dark out -> warm and cosy in
  • no shorts or bikinis
  • long sleeves and comfy clothes
  • sweet anticipation of coming springtime and sipping coffee in the sun

what ? self-contradiction ?  no no, just open-minded, to some extent  :)

and enjoying the season variations

and off course when its frozen and snowy out, the dog paws aren't  making nearly as much a mess inside - another benefit.

my snow shovel just broke the other day...  so I went inside to my hubs and resigned from my snow shoveling chores.  Until I get a new one, or the old one is fixed.

Summer

Summer holiday came and went. Lovely.
It has been both cold and warm, joyful and sad, relaxing and exhausting.
Went to the north of Norway- always a treat.

Dirty dancing

Had another breathtaking  experience, as a spectator of a show at Tivoli Copenhagen.  This time the musical Dirty Dancing, and it was amazing!
Wow - it was such a show, still a bit high from it, as is my 17 year old daughter! The music, the dancers, the story, the romance... Awww...
Look at them - the Danish Johnny and Baby..

It was just absolutely lovely. When we came home we had to watch the movie, again!

I just want to see it again, and again, and again....

Life is short

Last week  a fellow blogger and recently more of a facebook friend Doggie  -http://alittlebitofchristo.blogspot.dk/
passed away.

I found him through blogging several years ago, I had the chance to actually meet him in New York in June 2010, but didn't take the time or the opportunity. My loss. Now I will never meet him.

Following his life online, his wit, his love for his son , his passion for cooking has been a treat. We made som chit-chat about the English language last week, and 2 days after he had a major stroke and  didn't survive..

So.

Another reminder that life is short, and to treasure it while we have it. Treasure the ups, but also the downs.. cause without the downs there will be no ups..

Cliché, some might say, but nevertheless true...

Something I can relate to, especially when confronted with our fragility

My Family - hubs, kids and dog. I love them forever and ever. Hope to stick around a long time for them... and they for me...
